Discover Hong Kong’s Most Exciting New Dining Concepts

A new luxury package at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong invites guests to experience the hotel’s newly reopened restaurant Amber alongside three fresh culinary concepts. Available from May 15 to Dec. 31, the Great Gourmet Escape pairs refined accommodation with an elevated dining program.

Amber, awarded two Michelin stars, has been a standout since opening in 2005. Following the hotel’s broader refurbishment that refreshed rooms and suites in 2016, Amber has undergone a contemporary redesign. The updated dining room and refreshed interiors are being unveiled to the public this season.

“Taking a progressive, considered approach to fine dining, our intention for the new Amber menu is to push creative boundaries, amplify natural flavors and present ingredients in their purest form. We look forward to presenting our new dishes and welcoming guests through the doors soon,” said Chef Richard Ekkebus, highlighting the restaurant’s commitment to thoughtful, ingredient-led cuisine.

Alongside Amber’s reopening, the hotel has introduced three distinctive dining venues that expand its gastronomic offerings. SOMM serves all day and features a curated selection of more than 100 wines and sakes chosen by the hotel’s sommelier team, making it ideal for casual tastings or relaxed meals. Sushi Shikon offers an intimate omakase experience limited to eight diners at a time; the concept was created by Master Chef Masahiro Yoshitake, the first Japanese chef in Hong Kong to receive three Michelin stars. Kappo Rin presents a contemporary kaiseki-style counter menu, focusing on seasonal ingredients and an interactive chef-to-guest experience.

The Great Gourmet Escape package requires a minimum two-night stay and includes accommodations in a Landmark Suite, a daily Champagne breakfast, a seven-course dinner for two, and late check-out. Guests booking the package also receive priority access for reservations at Sushi Shikon and Kappo Rin, ensuring opportunities to sample each of the hotel’s new culinary concepts during their stay.

Designed for travelers who value both comfort and culinary discovery, the package combines luxury lodging with immersive dining. The Landmark Mandarin Oriental’s location in the heart of Hong Kong’s business and shopping district makes it a convenient base for exploring the city’s vibrant food scene before returning to a refined, gastronomic-focused hotel experience.

Whether seeking a special occasion retreat or a focused culinary getaway, the Great Gourmet Escape offers a curated blend of Michelin-level dining, intimate omakase, and contemporary Japanese counter service paired with signature Mandarin Oriental hospitality. The package provides a streamlined way to enjoy the hotel’s new venues while staying in one of its premier suites.
