Delta Launches New Tokyo Flights — Routes, Schedule & Tips

Delta Air Lines will add service to Tokyo next year, increasing its A350 network and giving travelers between Atlanta (ATL) and Tokyo Narita (NRT) access to the carrier’s latest cabin products. The new schedule marks the second Delta route to Tokyo operated with an Airbus A350 and introduces Delta’s newest business class, Delta One Suites, along with Delta Premium Select premium economy seating.

The route is scheduled to begin on March 31, 2019, and will use Delta’s A350 aircraft, replacing the Boeing 777-200LR currently flown between Atlanta and Narita. Moving to the A350 brings a refreshed onboard experience, updated cabin layout and the airline’s most recent seating options.

Business-class customers on the A350 will have the option to book Delta One Suites, a fully enclosed business-class product that Delta markets as the world’s first all-suite business class. Each suite features a sliding door for privacy and a seat that converts to a fully flat bed. The suites are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration so every passenger has direct aisle access, combining privacy with convenience for long-haul travel.

In addition to the Delta One Suites, the aircraft will offer Delta Premium Select, the airline’s premium economy cabin. Premium Select provides an upgraded experience compared with standard economy, including wider seats, additional recline and enhanced amenities designed for greater comfort on long international flights.

The switch to the A350 and the introduction of Delta One Suites and Premium Select on the Atlanta–Tokyo Narita route represent an upgrade in both comfort and service for passengers traveling this long-haul sector. Travelers interested in booking can expect a modern cabin environment, improved privacy in business class and a more spacious premium economy option compared with the previous 777-200LR configuration.
