Delta Launches New Direct Flights to Orange County

Delta adds a new nonstop route between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California. Service on the route begins Oct. 15 and represents the only nonstop option between New York and Santa Ana, located about an hour south of Los Angeles.

This new flight is part of Delta’s expanded West Coast schedule from JFK this year, which also includes increased service to San Jose (SJC), additional San Diego (SAN) frequencies and more flights to Seattle (SEA).

“Our customers have told us more flights to the West Coast are valuable to them, and we’re very excited to add this nonstop service to John Wayne Airport in Orange County, complementing up to 10 daily nonstop flights from JFK to Los Angeles,” said Chuck Imhof, Delta’s vice president of New York & Eastern division sales. “This is another great addition on top of more flights coming for our New York customers this fall.”

The JFK–Orange County route will operate six times weekly, departing every day except Saturday. Delta plans to fly a Boeing 737-700 on the route, configured with 12 first-class seats, 18 Delta Comfort+ seats and 94 main cabin seats.

Travelers flying into John Wayne Airport gain direct access to Orange County destinations, popular beaches and attractions without the longer transit from Los Angeles-area airports. For many travelers to southern Orange County and nearby communities, the new nonstop reduces total travel time and simplifies connections for both business and leisure trips.

Delta’s schedule expansion from JFK reflects demand for more coast-to-coast connectivity and provides additional options for passengers seeking nonstop service between New York and Southern California. The addition complements Delta’s existing Los Angeles offerings and gives travelers a new, convenient alternative for reaching Orange County.
