Delta Expands SkyMiles Choice Benefits With New Perks

Delta Air Lines has announced enhancements to its SkyMiles loyalty program that provide greater flexibility and value for elite members.

Beginning March 1, Diamond Medallion members who qualify for 2018 status will be able to select an additional Choice Benefit option, increasing their total selections from two to three. In addition, members will no longer be required to choose all of their Choice Benefits at once; instead, they can make selections at different times throughout the Medallion year.

“We spend a lot of time with our members, understanding how to make SkyMiles better for them,” said Sandeep Dube, vice president of customer engagement and loyalty at Delta Air Lines. “The additional Choice Benefit and the new, more flexible selection process was made in response to member feedback to make SkyMiles even more rewarding for our Diamond Medallion members.”

Choice Benefits, available exclusively to Delta’s elite tier members, include upgrade certificates, the option to gift status, bonus miles and vouchers to apply for Global Entry, among other perks.

Delta is also adjusting how Delta Sky Club access is handled for Diamond-status members. Instead of receiving Sky Club access automatically, members will now see it listed as a Choice Benefit option. Members who already receive Sky Club access through the Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express or other existing entitlements will be given an extra Choice Benefit to select instead.

The carrier has begun notifying eligible members about the updates and has refreshed the Choice Benefits pages to display the changes and help members make informed selections.
