Delta Air Lines has updated its onboard snack selection, replacing its previous branded peanuts and pretzels with a refreshed lineup aimed at offering more variety and larger portions. The new assortment features Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels, Squirrel Brand Honey Roasted peanuts, and NatureBox Apple Cinnamon Yogurt Bars, while retaining Delta’s popular Biscoff cookies.
The change is part of Delta’s broader effort to enhance the in-flight experience. Main Cabin snacks will be refreshed more frequently and tailored based on direct customer feedback. The rollout follows positive responses from earlier trials and employee input, reflecting the airline’s intent to respond to traveler preferences.
“We know our customers love pretzels and nuts, but we also know they crave more choices and larger portions which is why we’re upgrading their snacking options onboard,” said Allison Ausband, senior vice president in-flight service at Delta Air Lines. “Nearly all of Delta’s 180 million customers enjoy our snack offerings each year, which is why, in the future, we’re also going to look at ways to let them help choose our next lineup.”
The complimentary snack distribution is organized by flight distance. On Main Cabin flights over 250 miles, passengers will receive the new selections. For shorter domestic flights between 251 and 599 miles, customers will be offered a choice between Biscoff cookies and Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels. On flights exceeding 600 miles, the selection expands to four options: Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels, Squirrel Brand Honey Roasted peanuts, a NatureBox Apple Cinnamon Yogurt Bar, or Biscoff cookies. International travelers will be able to choose between Snyder’s pretzels and Squirrel Brand Honey Roasted peanuts.
To celebrate the rollout, Delta installed complimentary sample vending machines in Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York, allowing customers to try the new snacks. The snack changes complement other recent onboard enhancements, including upgraded blankets, complimentary beer, wine and spirits, and updated sleep kits, all aimed at improving passenger comfort and satisfaction.
