Crystal Cruises, recognized as one of the world’s premier luxury hospitality and lifestyle brands, has announced a major expansion of its fleet and services. The company is executing one of the most ambitious growth plans in the luxury travel sector, beginning with the launch of the ultra-luxurious yacht Crystal Esprit and Crystal Mozart, the first in a new series of elegant river yachts.
Beyond its marine offerings, Crystal has expanded into private aviation. In April the company introduced Crystal Luxury Air, a bespoke private jet charter service initially operating a Global Express capable of accommodating 12 guests. By October, the program announced an inaugural series of global journeys aboard Crystal’s privately owned Boeing 777-200LR, further extending the brand’s all-inclusive luxury reach.
“The breadth of development we’ve achieved since our expansion announcement in July 2015 has been astonishing and thrilling, and we’ve only just begun,” said Edie Rodriguez, chief executive officer and president of Crystal. “We are redefining the luxury travel segment and enabling discerning travelers to customize their ideal experiences. As the industry evolves, our priority remains offering unparalleled luxury that adapts with change while maintaining the meticulous attention to detail and service that has earned loyal guests for decades.”
Crystal Esprit broadens the brand’s appeal with adventurous, small-ship itineraries and onboard amenities that include extreme water toys and, notably, the first-ever submarine available on a leisure yacht. With capacity for 62 guests, the yacht attracted nearly 50 percent more new travelers in its first year than comparable deployments, reflecting strong demand for intimate, adventure-focused luxury voyages.
To support the widening portfolio of inclusive, high-end offerings, Crystal rolled out a new brand campaign emphasizing exclusivity and curated experiences. Global operations expanded with a Miami branch office opening in early 2016, a sales and marketing office to support Australia in August 2016, and a Sydney branch office in 2017. The company also selected Miami’s historic Shrine Building as a central showcase for its luxury portfolio, scheduled to open in spring 2017.
Looking ahead, Crystal committed to introducing at least one new brand experience each year through 2022. The rollout includes: in 2017, the launches of Crystal Bach and Crystal Mahler, the introduction of Crystal AirCruises, enhancements to Crystal Symphony, and the arrival of a second Global Express jet for Crystal Luxury Air; in 2018, the arrivals of Crystal Debussy and Crystal Ravel alongside enhancements to Crystal Serenity; in 2019, the launch of the expedition mega-yacht Crystal Endeavor; in 2020 and 2021, the debuts of the second and third expedition mega-yachts, respectively; and in 2022, the unveiling of the Crystal Exclusive Class, featuring Crystal Residences.
These strategic additions—spanning yachts, river vessels, expedition ships, and private aviation—underscore Crystal’s intent to offer a comprehensive range of luxury travel experiences that combine personalized service, innovative amenities, and global reach.
