At the end of the year, Costa Cruises plans to introduce a new culinary concept to its Italian-inspired dining venues and menus. The line will add a gourmet mozzarella bar to its onboard gastronomic offerings, providing guests with an authentic, freshly made cheese experience. The mozzarella will be prepared daily on board from buffalo milk curd sourced from the temples in Paestum.
The mozzarella bar will serve cheese while still warm, accompanied by traditional Italian cold cuts, burrata, stracciatella and fiordilatte. Fresh mozzarella will also be used in Costa’s pizzerias, ensuring the same high-quality ingredient is featured across multiple dining options. The gourmet bar will debut on the Costa Diadema, the fleet’s flagship, with plans to roll it out to other ships during 2017.
The addition reflects Costa Cruises’ ongoing focus on authentic regional cuisine and elevated onboard dining, giving passengers a direct taste of Italian cheese-making traditions as part of their cruise experience.
