China Airlines Boosts North America Routes and Services

China Airlines and Southwest Airlines are adding Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) to their North American network, increasing China Airlines’ presence on the U.S. West Coast to five hubs alongside Los Angeles (LAX), Ontario (ONT), San Francisco (SFO) and Seattle (SEA). Starting Dec. 3, China Airlines will launch thrice-weekly service between Phoenix and Taipei (TPE) using the Airbus A350-900. Passengers arriving from Asia will be able to connect seamlessly to more than 30 domestic destinations from Phoenix via China Airlines and Southwest.

As it grows its North American footprint, China Airlines emphasizes Taiwanese hospitality and improved onboard services. Business-class passengers departing from Los Angeles, Ontario and Phoenix will be offered a signature Ginseng Chicken Noodle Soup made with Hsu’s American Ginseng, a brand with more than 50 years of recognition in the North American Chinese community. The soup service will be accompanied by a European-style Ginseng and Goji Berry Bread and a Ginseng Guava Mousse Cake.

In addition to the curated meal service, China Airlines offers a range of pre-order options that customers can select online up to 24 hours before departure. Choices include Taiwanese pork chop over rice, Dong Po Pork with steamed rice, Abalone with steamed rice, and stir-fried Maine lobster with ginger and scallions served with egg-fried rice, providing a variety of regional flavors for long-haul travelers.

To mark the new Phoenix–Taipei route, China Airlines has launched a promotional fare in partnership with five Asian tourism bureaus representing Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Through Sept. 7, travelers booking for two or more passengers can receive $150 off round-trip tickets to Asia, with fares starting from $682, providing a cost-effective option for visitors and connecting traffic through Phoenix.
