Chase and Southwest Launch New Priority Card — What to Know

Chase and Southwest Airlines have introduced the Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Credit Card, designed for frequent travelers seeking extra value and travel perks.

This Priority Card is an enhanced version of the Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card. It adds new benefits, expanded ways to earn points, in-flight savings and travel-focused features that make it appealing for regular Southwest flyers.

Key features of the Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Credit Card include:

  • 7,500 Anniversary Points awarded each year on cardmember anniversary
  • A $75 yearly Southwest travel credit that can be applied toward Southwest purchases
  • 20% back as a statement credit on eligible in-flight purchases, including Wi-Fi, movies and beverages
  • Up to four boarding upgrades per year

In addition to these new perks, the Priority Card follows the familiar Rapid Rewards earnings structure: two points per dollar spent on Southwest Airlines and Rapid Rewards partner purchases (such as hotels and car rentals) and one point per dollar on other purchases.

Cardholders benefit from several travel-friendly policies: no foreign transaction fees, an A-List tier qualification boost, and points that do not expire while the account remains open. Southwest’s customer-friendly policies also continue for cardmembers — no change fees, free checked bags, and no blackout dates or seat restrictions when redeeming points on Southwest flights.

The Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Credit Card targets travelers who value lounge-like perks and consistent point earning on everyday and travel spending. The combination of an annual points bonus, travel credit, in-flight savings and boarding upgrades makes it a compelling option for customers who fly Southwest regularly.

If you’re considering a travel card that emphasizes Southwest loyalty benefits, review the card’s terms and current sign-up offers carefully to see if the Priority Card aligns with your travel patterns and spending habits.
