British Airways has completed a refurbishment of its First lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5, enhancing the experience for First customers and Gold Executive Club members. The updated space features new furnishings, fresh carpeting, wood flooring accents and additional power outlets placed in more convenient locations to better serve modern travel needs.
“Our First customers and Gold Executive Club members are used to the very best service and surroundings, both in the air and on the ground. The refurbishment of our First lounge at Terminal 5 will ensure they can continue to enjoy fine cuisine, outstanding wines and Champagnes and relax in comfort before flying in style to destinations around the world,” said Troy Warfield, director of customer experience at British Airways.
The refreshed First lounge includes The Gold Bar, a self-service area where guests can choose from a selection of wines, Champagne and spirits beneath an elegant Swarovski crystal chandelier. An additional Champagne Bar highlights premium Champagne options, while the self-service dining area offers a variety of hot and cold dishes alongside non-alcoholic beverages. For those needing to work before departure, the lounge provides complimentary PCs and high-speed Wi-Fi, helping passengers stay productive and connected.
The refurbishment focuses on both aesthetics and convenience: seating zones were reorganized to create quieter corners and social areas, lighting was updated to improve ambience, and power outlets were added near seating clusters to accommodate laptops and mobile devices. New flooring and upholstery materials were chosen for durability and comfort, supporting a calm, luxurious atmosphere that complements the airline’s in-flight First experience.
Overall, the improvements aim to make time in the lounge more comfortable and functional—whether guests wish to relax with a glass of Champagne, enjoy a meal, or prepare for a meeting. By combining stylish design, enhanced amenities and practical conveniences, British Airways’ First lounge at Terminal 5 offers a refined pre-flight environment for premium travelers.
