Boston’s Holiday Magic: Top Seasonal Events and Attractions

It’s back and sweeter than ever: Pop It Like It’s Hot! A Taza Hot Chocolate Pop-Up Shop (for a Cause) at Revere Hotel Boston Common has returned for the season. Every Friday from 3–6 p.m. through Dec. 27, the hotel lobby hosts Taza specialty hot chocolate creations prepared by notable local chefs.

There is no fixed admission fee—guests decide how much to donate. All proceeds support the Boston nonprofit The Home for Little Wanderers. To complement the hot chocolate offerings, Carlo’s Bakery (well known from TLC’s hit show Cake Boss) provides a selection of pastries and baked treats.

Revere Hotel Executive Chef Bader Ali curates the weekly menu, showcasing guest chefs who bring imaginative and exotic twists to classic cocoa drinks. Participating chefs include Brian Poe of Poe’s Kitchen at the Rattlesnake, Estelle’s and Tip Tap Room; Samuel Monsour of JM Curley; and Jason Santos of Blue Inc., Abby Lane and Back Bay Harry’s.

Menu highlights change each week, offering distinctive flavor combinations. Sample offerings include Chef Monsour’s candy cane cream pie hot chocolate on Dec. 6, Chef Santos’ Nutella hot chocolate topped with handmade banana whipped cream on Dec. 13, Chef Poe’s black lava salted caramel with maple-candied pecans and cinnamon whipped cream on Dec. 20, and Chef Ali’s molten chocolate on Dec. 27.

This pop-up blends seasonal indulgence with community support: a cozy place to satisfy a sweet tooth, discover creative cocoa pairings from Boston’s culinary scene, and contribute to a local charity.
