Boingo WiFi Now Available at 30+ Major U.S. Airports

Boingo Wireless has expanded its Wi-Finder app to offer free WiFi at major U.S. airports. Travelers can now use the app to access unlimited, ad-supported internet at participating locations, simplifying connectivity while on the go.

The ad-supported service is available at more than 30 airports across the United States. When users opt into the free experience they view advertisements in exchange for access to high-speed WiFi. For those who prefer an ad-free connection, Boingo continues to offer one-day and monthly subscription plans that provide access to more than one million hotspots worldwide, including airports, restaurants, hotels and other public venues. Paid subscribers also gain access to Passpoint, a feature that enables automatic, secure connections and adds an extra layer of public WiFi encryption for improved privacy.

“Wi-Finder has been a go-to app for locating hotspots, but now we’ve taken it one step further by making access to many of these hotspots free,” said Dawn Callahan, chief marketing officer at Boingo. She noted that the ad-supported model keeps travelers connected to reliable, fast WiFi while giving brands a way to reach a captive audience by sponsoring a widely requested travel amenity.

The expanded Wi-Finder offering aims to address a common pain point for travelers: finding dependable internet service in busy terminals. By combining free, ad-supported access at select airports with optional paid tiers for broader, ad-free coverage and enhanced security, Boingo positions the app as a flexible solution for different traveler needs. Whether someone is on a quick layover, working between flights, or planning longer travel, the available options let users choose the balance of cost, convenience and privacy that suits them.

Boingo’s approach reflects a broader trend in public connectivity: using sponsorships and advertising to underwrite free access while maintaining premium subscription paths for users who want more features. The company’s large network of hotspots worldwide and the inclusion of security features like Passpoint for paid accounts make the service attractive to frequent travelers and occasional users alike.
