Avis has launched a new Curbside Delivery service as an optional add-on to its car rentals. Instead of navigating a busy lot or arranging complicated drop-offs with luggage, guests can drive their rental back to the lot and be escorted directly to the airport terminal in the same vehicle by an Avis representative.
“We’ve all been in that situation where we’re running late for a flight or juggling luggage, sports equipment, kids and limited time,” said Joe Ferraro, president, Americas, Avis Budget Group. “Avis Curbside Delivery reduces transit time and delivers the convenience of being dropped off at the terminal in the same car you rented. As we digitize more of our operations, we’re focused on reinventing the rental experience for leisure and business travelers — simplifying journeys through the app and giving customers greater choice and control.”
The Curbside Delivery option can be added to a reservation via email, text message or through the Avis mobile app. Customers may add the service at any point during their rental period for added flexibility.
In addition to the new drop-off service, Avis is offering a promotion for Amazon customers. Renters who book through the Avis skill for Amazon Alexa will receive an Amazon.com gift card equal to 20 percent of their rental cost.
Avis Curbside Delivery is currently available in 35 cities and at most major airports, providing a streamlined end to the rental experience for travelers looking to save time and avoid the hassle of traditional vehicle returns.
