Autograph Collection, the curated portfolio of independent hotels from Marriott International, has announced the opening of The Press Hotel in Portland, Maine. Scheduled to begin welcoming guests in May, this property marks the city’s first lifestyle boutique hotel to join the Autograph Collection.
Situated at the corner of Exchange and Congress Streets in the historic Old Port district, The Press Hotel will feature 110 carefully designed guestrooms. Each room draws inspiration from a 1920s writer’s office, blending vintage elements—such as a classic journalist’s desk—with contemporary comforts and subtle newsroom motifs throughout the interiors.
In addition to the guestrooms, the hotel will include four private event spaces suitable for meetings and intimate gatherings. Dining will be anchored by M.C. UNION, a 65-seat restaurant created by James Beard Award-winning chefs Mark Gaier and Clark Fraiser, offering a thoughtful menu in a relaxed yet refined setting.
The addition of The Press Hotel brings the Autograph Collection portfolio to 79 properties worldwide, expanding the brand’s selection of distinctive, independently minded hotels.
