Autograph Collection Hotels, part of Marriott International, has added a third independently spirited property in Madrid with the opening of Hotel Círculo Gran Vía, Autograph Collection.
Housed in a striking Neo‑Classical building that once served as the Merchant’s and Industrialist’s Circle, the property has been transformed into an adults‑only boutique hotel and casino following a multimillion‑dollar renovation.
“We are delighted to bring new life to this iconic building in the heart of Madrid,” said John Licence, vice president of premium and select brands in Europe for Marriott International. “With its grand architecture and carefully curated design that honors the building’s rich history, Hotel Círculo Gran Vía, Autograph Collection captures the spirit and heritage of this vibrant city and reflects our Exactly Like Nothing Else brand philosophy.”
Situated on the famed Gran Vía, the hotel dates back to the 1920s and was originally a gathering place for intellectuals and writers. That legacy informs the aesthetic of the hotel’s 71 stylish rooms and suites as well as its public areas, where period details and contemporary comforts are woven together to reflect the building’s cultural past.
Key features include Casino Gran Vía, one of Madrid’s best‑known gaming destinations, and the Royal Hall, an opulent common area furnished with elaborate pieces where guests can relax, socialize, and enjoy drinks in an atmospheric setting.
Hotel Círculo Gran Vía, Autograph Collection is the brand’s third independently branded hotel in Madrid, joining Hotel Palacio Del Retiro and Hotel Santo Mauro in Autograph Collection’s locally distinctive portfolio.
