Aspire Lounge Opens at London Heathrow Terminal 5 – What to Expect

There’s a new lounge coming to London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5. Aspire, the Lounge and Spa at LHR T5 will open this summer as Terminal 5’s first independent lounge. Located near Gate 18 and open to all passengers regardless of class of travel, the lounge is designed to provide a calm, comfortable space for travelers seeking a quiet place to relax before their flight. The facility will also include spa services, offering a combination of rest and rejuvenation for busy passengers. Aspire is a joint venture between Collinson Group and Swissport.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to open an independent lounge at Terminal 5, one of the most important terminals in the world,” said Errol McGlothan, general manager EMEA, Collinson Group. “Insight from Heathrow indicates that travelers are very keen for us to offer them this exciting new facility and meet their desire for somewhere to rest and recharge.”

Since launching in 2012, Aspire lounges have steadily expanded their presence across global airports, becoming popular with independent travelers and those who prefer flexible access options. “The opening of Aspire, the Lounge and Spa at LHR T5 offers real value to travelers,” said Shaun Weston, travel services director, Swissport. The new lounge aims to cater to a wide range of passengers by combining comfortable seating, quiet zones, food and beverage options, and on-site spa treatments tailored to short-stay needs.

Positioned within easy reach of boarding gates, the lounge will appeal to passengers who want a tranquil environment away from the main concourse bustle. Features are expected to include spacious seating areas, charging stations, complimentary refreshments, and dedicated quiet spaces for work or relaxation. The inclusion of spa services responds to growing demand for wellness options in airport lounges, allowing travelers to enjoy treatments such as massages and express therapies that fit into tight travel schedules.

Access will be available to all passengers, making it a flexible option for those who do not hold airline lounge memberships or premium tickets. This accessibility reflects a broader trend in airport hospitality where independent lounges offer single-entry or day-pass options alongside memberships, providing choice and convenience for diverse traveler needs.

Both Collinson Group and Swissport bring extensive airport hospitality experience to the venture. Collinson operates a network of lounges and customer-focused services, while Swissport contributes operational expertise across ground and lounge services. Their partnership on Aspire at LHR T5 aims to deliver consistent service standards, efficient operations, and a welcoming atmosphere that supports travelers from the moment they arrive at the terminal until they board.

Travelers using Terminal 5 will soon have a new option for pre-flight comfort that balances relaxation and practical amenities. With a location near Gate 18, the lounge is strategically placed to offer convenience without requiring passengers to stray far from their departure gate. As airports continue to evolve, lounges like Aspire at LHR T5 provide a blend of hospitality and wellbeing that meets modern travel expectations.
