Rail carrier Amtrak and ride-hailing company Lyft have partnered to simplify ground transportation to and from train stations, making it easier for passengers to complete their journeys.
Through the Amtrak mobile app, travelers can now request a Lyft ride via a direct app integration. New Lyft users can take advantage of a promotion—use the code AMTRAKLYFT to receive $5 off each of your first four Lyft trips when eligible.
“We’re looking forward to working with Amtrak. As a fixture of American travel, Amtrak makes it simple and convenient for passengers, something Lyft feels passionately about as well,” said David Baga, chief business officer at Lyft. “Both companies have a long-standing commitment to supporting the communities we serve and we’re excited to grow together.”
This collaboration aims to help passengers reach their final destinations quickly and safely. Lyft serves more than 360 communities nationwide, covering roughly 80 percent of the U.S. population and providing service to an estimated 97 percent of Amtrak riders. Both companies say they plan to expand the scope of the partnership over time to further enhance the travel experience and strengthen connections among the communities they serve.
Beyond the initial integration, the agreement represents a shared commitment to improving mobility across Amtrak’s 46-state network, with potential for additional features and broader collaboration in the future.
