American Express and Airbnb Launch New Integrated Booking Experience

American Express and Airbnb have announced a new technology integration that makes it faster and easier for U.S. cardholders to sign up for the home-sharing platform and book stays. Leveraging American Express’s experience in rewards and travel, the integration brings on-platform loyalty features to Airbnb’s nearly 2 million listings worldwide.

U.S.-based American Express cardholders can create an Airbnb account using their existing americanexpress.com user ID and password, enabling a streamlined sign-up and allowing them to store their card for faster future bookings. Cardholders may also verify their Airbnb profile using their Amex credentials for added account verification. Membership Rewards points can be applied to all or part of an Airbnb reservation, and Amex Express Checkout—introduced in July—lets cardholders complete Airbnb purchases more quickly at checkout.

“Our card members love one-of-a-kind and memorable travel experiences, and with this partnership, we’re creating a frictionless and valuable way for them to take advantage of everything Airbnb has to offer,” said Leslie Berlan, executive vice president, global advertising, marketing and digital partnerships at American Express. “Through our technology, we’re bringing to life our unique assets on Airbnb, delivering the world-class service, experience and benefits card members expect from their Amex membership.”

In addition, eligible cardholders can take advantage of an Amex Offers promotion: receive $50 back when spending $100 or more on Airbnb through Dec. 31.
