Starting April 10, Alitalia will introduce reduced fares for travelers who fly with carry-on luggage only.
These “Hand Baggage Only” or “light” fares apply to flights between Italy and destinations in the United States and Canada. The move aligns Alitalia with other major carriers that have introduced similar lower-priced options.
The new HBO fares are priced competitively with offerings from low-cost carriers such as Norwegian Air, which has recently expanded its presence in the Italian market. Other airlines that already provide hand-baggage-only options include Air France, KLM, Aer Lingus, TAP Air Portugal, Scandinavian Airlines, Lufthansa and WOW air.
By offering a lower fare for passengers traveling with only carry-on bags, Alitalia aims to attract price-sensitive travelers while providing clearer choices for those who prefer to travel light.
