Alaska Airlines Launches New Flights to Charleston, SC

Alaska Airlines continues to expand its route network from its Seattle-Tacoma International Airport hub with the launch of new nonstop service to Charleston International Airport. This new connection marks the seventh city added to the carrier’s schedule this year and follows last month’s inauguration of nonstop flights between Seattle and Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

“We’re excited to add Charleston, South Carolina, to our growing list of nonstop cities from Seattle, now 86 and counting,” said John Kirby, vice president of capacity planning at Alaska Airlines. The new service strengthens Alaska’s offerings from the Pacific Northwest and provides travelers a direct link to the Southeast.

Billy Swails, chairman of the Charleston County Aviation Authority, welcomed the carrier’s arrival. “On behalf of the Charleston County Aviation Authority, we are proud to welcome Alaska Airlines to the Lowcountry and look forward to a long and prosperous partnership,” he said. “Service to Seattle gives our passengers an important new destination.”

The addition of Charleston supports both business and leisure travel between the Pacific Northwest and the Lowcountry, offering convenient nonstop options and improved connectivity for customers on both coasts. With this route, Alaska Airlines continues to build on its Seattle hub strategy, increasing choice for passengers and strengthening regional links.

Passengers can expect Alaska’s standard onboard service and network connections at the Seattle hub, making it easier to connect to the airline’s broader national and international schedule. The carrier’s steady expansion reflects ongoing demand for direct flights and a focus on delivering point-to-point convenience without the need for connections.

As Alaska adds new nonstop destinations, travelers benefit from reduced travel time and simpler itineraries. Charleston’s addition is part of a broader trend of carriers restoring and expanding service to leisure and business centers across the United States, driven by passenger demand for accessible, nonstop travel options.

Keeping pace with seasonal and year-round travel needs, Alaska’s new Seattle–Charleston service joins a growing list of nonstop routes that enhance choice and flexibility for travelers in both regions.
