Air China has expanded its presence in North America with the launch of non-stop service between Beijing (PEK) and Montreal (YUL). The inaugural flight from Beijing was welcomed in Montreal by dignitaries and senior officials, including His Excellency Luo Zhaohui, the Chinese ambassador to Canada, and Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre.
“The direct route between Montréal and Beijing—the very first scheduled transpacific connection from Montréal–Trudeau—is finally a reality,” said James Cherry, president and CEO of Aéroports de Montréal. “China has never been closer.”
Air China will operate the route using the Boeing 777-300ER, a modern aircraft that incorporates advanced fuel-efficient technology. The three-class cabin features ambient lighting and an upgraded in-flight entertainment system. The configuration includes eight first-class suites, 41 fully flat business-class seats and 259 economy seats, each equipped with an individual TV monitor and audio-video on demand.
