Air Canada Launches New Express Lounge at Toronto Pearson Airport

Air Canada has opened a new premium Maple Leaf Lounge Express at Toronto Pearson International Airport designed specifically for passengers connecting between Toronto (YYZ) and the United States.

Located in Terminal 1’s transborder departure area, the Maple Leaf Lounge Express is available to business-class customers, Air Canada Altitude members and Star Alliance Gold travelers flying on Air Canada or United Airlines. The lounge is intended for those catching narrow-body, short-haul flights to U.S. destinations and provides a convenient waiting area close to the commuter gates.

The compact lounge accommodates about 50 seats and complements Pearson’s three existing Maple Leaf Lounges. It offers a self-serve bar, light snack options and complimentary WiFi, along with a quieter environment for working or relaxing before departure. The space was planned to give premium guests a calm, efficient place to prepare for their flight without adding extra transit time.

“This unique space has been created to enhance the overall travel experience of our premium customers and represents a commitment to our transborder product,” said Andrew Yiu, vice president of product at Air Canada. “This all-new lounge is just steps from the Air Canada commuter gates, making it easy to enjoy comfort on the go before flying to the U.S. Customers will be warmly received by a premium agent, and enjoy a calm environment in which to work or relax before their Air Canada flight.”

The Maple Leaf Lounge Express targets travelers who value quick access to their boarding gates combined with the amenities expected of a premium lounge. By focusing on proximity and convenience, the lounge aims to streamline the pre-flight experience for transborder customers while maintaining the service standards associated with Air Canada’s Maple Leaf Lounge brand.

With this addition, Toronto Pearson’s Terminal 1 now offers more options for premium passengers traveling to the United States, allowing those with limited connection times to enjoy refreshments, internet access and a comfortable seating area without the need to travel far from their departure gates.
