Rosewood Hotel Group has announced a comprehensive operations plan called Rosewood Impact that reinforces its commitment to people and the planet. The initiative centers on two pillars: Rosewood Empowers and Rosewood Sustains, which together guide the company’s community and environmental efforts.

Rosewood Empowers focuses on strengthening communities by creating employment pathways for underserved and underrepresented groups, supporting education, and driving local economic development through partnerships and local hiring. One example is the relationship between Rosewood Mayakoba and the non-profit Centro Educativo K’iin Beh school in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Thanks to Rosewood Empowers, the school reopened and local families have gained access to scholarships and educational opportunities for employees’ children, directly benefiting both staff and community members.
Rosewood Sustains outlines measurable environmental goals designed to reduce the brand’s ecological footprint. Targets include phasing out single-use plastics across the portfolio, cutting energy and water use by 25 percent by 2025, diverting 70 percent of waste from landfills and incinerators by 2025, achieving 50 percent carbon neutrality by 2035, and reaching full carbon neutrality by 2040.

Several properties already demonstrate these commitments in practice. Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort on Hawai’i Island has been designed to meet LEED Gold standards and will be fully powered by solar energy. At Rosewood Baha Mar in Nassau, The Bahamas, the hotel partners with The Bahamas Reef Environmental Education Foundation to protect the nearby marine environment. That partnership supports public education on coral reef conservation, organizes guest-led beach cleanups, and participates in coral reef restoration by planting reef fragments in local waters.
