Choice Hotels International has announced updates to its Choice Privileges loyalty program that make it easier and faster for members to earn rewards and convert points into tangible benefits.
In the U.S., members who book a qualifying stay that includes at least one weeknight can choose from one of five reward options, such as discounts on fuel at Shell or Amazon.com gift cards. International members will be able to select either bonus points or airline miles as their reward. Gift cards are now delivered digitally, eliminating the wait for mailed cards and enabling instant use.
A new feature called FlexRewards accelerates free-night redemptions. Members can now use fewer points to book a free night at more than 1,500 participating properties, making redemptions more accessible. Earning points has also become simpler: Choice Hotels now awards 10 points per dollar spent at any of its roughly 5,500 properties, which includes economy and extended-stay brands.
“While many rewards programs continue to decrease the value of benefits for their guests, we’re building a loyalty program that gives more and faster perks to travelers starting right when they join,” said Jamie Russo, vice president of loyalty and customer engagement at Choice Hotels. “We have built these new features around guests, and we want them to feel constantly rewarded by the new Choice Privileges wherever their travels take them.”
Members should note that points will expire unless they complete at least one qualifying activity every 18 months to keep their accounts active.
