Of all the journeys planned by Abercrombie & Kent founder Geoffrey Kent over the past 50 years, Around the World with Geoffrey Kent by Private Jet: The Tropics to the Arctic (May 1–26, 2016) stands out as a pinnacle. Kent personally hosts this nearly month-long expedition aboard a chartered private jet outfitted with 50 fully lie-flat first-class seats, guiding a small group through destinations many travelers have yet to discover.
The voyage begins in the tropics with revealing stops in Colombia, French Polynesia and the Solomon Islands, then continues to the Philippines, one of the best places on Earth to encounter whale sharks. From there the itinerary moves to the vast Mongolian steppes, a landscape largely unchanged since the time of Genghis Khan, followed by visits to historic Samarkand and the cultural landmarks of St. Petersburg. The expedition concludes in Greenland during the season of the midnight sun, offering extended daylight for exploration.
The trip is limited to no more than 50 guests, enabling an itinerary rich in privileged access and invitation-only experiences. Highlights arranged exclusively for Abercrombie & Kent Private Jet guests include a traditional bride-price ceremony in the Solomon Islands, a private visit to a street market in Colombia, and a special presentation of Mongolia’s Naadam Games — the nation’s traditional competitions in archery, wrestling and horsemanship.
In addition to the Tropics to the Arctic journey, Abercrombie & Kent will again present its popular private jet itinerary for 2016: Around the World by Private Jet: Islands, Savannas & the Amazon (Oct. 17–Nov. 11, 2016). Also designed by Geoffrey Kent, that expedition highlights some of the planet’s most remote and remarkable places, continuing the company’s tradition of small-group, high-access exploration.
