Taos Ski Valley is introducing several new experiences for visitors to New Mexico this summer and into early fall. New lift-served mountain biking trails for intermediate and advanced riders join expanded instructional offerings, while the resort’s summer programming continues to emphasize low-impact, human-powered adventures that highlight the natural beauty of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in keeping with its B Corporation commitment to environmental sustainability.

Following the success of the Green Chile Flow Trail, Taos Ski Valley has added several new routes to give riders more variety and challenge. New intermediate trails include Pop Rocks, Grip It And Rip It, and Blue Bottles, and an advanced trail called Risky Biscuit has also been opened. Another intermediate trail, Hondo, is slated to open this month. These additions retain the best features of Green Chile—lift access, sweeping mountain views and approachable thrills—but add tighter turns and steeper sections for riders seeking a higher level of excitement.
For the first time this summer, Taos Ski Valley is offering mountain biking private lessons tailored to groups of up to four people. Each lesson includes bike rental, all necessary safety gear, a lift ticket and three hours of on-mountain instruction, making it easy for small groups to build skills and confidence under professional guidance.

The resort’s unique Via Ferrata experience returns as well. Located at about 11,500 feet on Kachina Peak within the sub-alpine zone, the Via Ferrata offers multiple routes for beginners, intermediate climbers and advanced participants, plus a 100-foot skybridge and a double-cable catwalk. New this season are sunset tours that let climbers experience the mountain and sky in dramatic evening light.
Scenic lift rides remain a popular, low-effort way to take in the alpine vistas of Kachina Basin. Day lift ticket pricing for summer scenic rides is: adult (18–64) $24; teen (13–17) $20; child (7–12) $17; senior (65–79) $20; ages 80+ and 6 & under ride free. Rates are modestly higher for mountain bike-specific lift access.
