Westin Denver Airport Unveils Reimagined Meeting and Event Spaces

The Westin Denver International Airport has completed the first phase of a multi-phase property transformation, unveiling a redesigned 37,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Directly connected to the Jeppesen Terminal, the hotel is the only full-service property with direct access to Denver International Airport, reinforcing its role as a premier meetings and events destination at DEN.

“Our goal with this transformation was to create meeting environments that feel intuitive, flexible, and deeply connected to place,” said Kurtis Hanson, general manager of The Westin Denver International Airport. “As we mark 10 years, this investment reflects both the strength of the Denver market and our commitment to providing planners and attendees with spaces that support productivity, well-being, and meaningful connection.”

The redesigned meeting spaces take inspiration from the Western landscape, using water as a guiding motif in carpet patterns and a layered color palette. The concept also references DEN’s public art program, including pieces from the “Outside In: Hotel and Transit Center Public Artwork” collection, to bring a sense of local character into the rooms. New furnishings, integrated greenery and adjustable LED lighting improve both functionality and ambience, while floor-to-ceiling windows in pre-function areas introduce abundant natural light.

The renovation updates 21 event rooms and 15 breakout spaces with refined finishes and improved layouts. Changes include optimized boardroom configurations and enhancements to the Dogwood and Den meeting rooms. The hotel’s largest venue can accommodate up to 850 guests and features two expansive ballrooms alongside a full complement of breakout rooms, making it suitable for conferences, banquets and larger gatherings.

Sustainability was a primary consideration during the redesign. New Axminster carpets feature an 80 percent wool blend, and mature trees were added to pre-function spaces to enhance air quality and wellbeing. As a LEED Platinum-certified and Four Green Key property, the hotel emphasizes energy efficiency, water conservation and responsible sourcing. Meeting planners can choose from environmentally focused options through the hotel’s Your Event, Your Impact carbon offset program, aligning events with sustainability goals.

This first phase is part of a broader $25 million property-wide transformation. Planned enhancements through spring 2027 will extend to guestrooms, dining outlets, fitness facilities and public spaces, ensuring a cohesive upgrade across the entire hotel while continuing to prioritize guest comfort, event flexibility and sustainable practices.
