On the Ground: Air Tahiti Nui operates from the Tom Bradley International Terminal. The terminal’s spacious layout and courteous port staff eased any concerns about the long flight to Tahiti. Check-in was efficient, with dedicated business-class counters that sped the process. The shared lounge provided a calm, comfortable place to relax and prepare for departure. (29/30)
Pre-flight: Business-class boarding allowed me to pre-board and settle into my seat without hurry. Flight attendants assisted with stowing carry-ons and pointed out where amenities were located in case I needed them during the flight. Tahitian music, led by the gentle sound of the ukulele, played as passengers boarded. The cabin décor combined tropical patterns on seat covers, pillows and curtains in warm yellow tones with the aircraft’s lagoon-blue motif, creating an immediate island atmosphere. The attentive yet unobtrusive crew circulated regularly, offering beverages such as Champagne mimosas and pineapple juice and providing reading material throughout the journey. (29/30)
In-flight: After safety announcements, the cabin crew changed into traditional Tahitian attire and personally welcomed each passenger with a gardenia. They demonstrated Poerava business-class features and explained how to operate the seat, the private viewing console and the personal entertainment remote. Meals were served on china with linen: service began with a cheddar-encrusted croissant, followed by foie gras, crusty Parisian bread and chocolate-glazed dates. For the main course I chose osso buco with pear ragout. After dinner, I sampled a selection of French pastries and fresh fruit from the dessert cart. The entertainment system offered a wide selection of high-quality, current films in English, French and Japanese, and an extensive audio library was available from takeoff to landing. I made the most of the full-flat 180-degree seat while the cabin was dimmed to enjoy music and movies. (39/40)
The Experience: Thoughtful service and generous amenities throughout the flight made the trans-Pacific journey both comfortable and memorable. The combination of authentic touches, attentive crew, and well-executed dining and entertainment left a lasting positive impression.
