Cloud Camp at The Broadmoor: Luxury Mountain Adventure Retreat

The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo. has announced the upcoming opening of Cloud Camp, a high-elevation wilderness retreat on Cheyenne Mountain scheduled to open later this summer. Perched at 9,200 feet, Cloud Camp will offer sweeping views of The Broadmoor, Pikes Peak and the Colorado Rockies.

About a 25-minute drive from The Broadmoor, Cloud Camp will center on an 8,000-square-foot Main Lodge and a collection of 11 cabins spread nearby. The Main Lodge features a spacious Great Room, a dining area, a bar and a wrap-around deck designed to showcase the mountain vistas. Seven guest accommodations will be housed in the Main Lodge, including a dedicated honeymoon suite.

The 11 cabins, set a short walk from the lodge, provide private porches with swings and rocking chairs and unobstructed views of the surrounding forest and peaks. Cabin layouts vary—some include loft space or two bedrooms—so guests can choose options that suit couples, families or small groups. Access to Cloud Camp is deliberately rustic: guests reach the retreat by Jeep, by mule, or on a scenic two-hour hike, each offering a different mountain experience.

Daily and scheduled activities will immerse guests in the natural setting. Options include guided nature walks that introduce local flora and fauna, archery, arts and crafts sessions, and outdoor cookouts around communal fire pits. The program aims to balance relaxation and outdoor adventure while preserving the peaceful, backcountry character of the site.

Cloud Camp’s design emphasizes comfort without sacrificing authenticity. The Main Lodge provides social spaces for gathering, dining and enjoying panoramic views, while the cabins offer quieter, private retreats for rest and stargazing after a day of exploring.
