After several busy days in Singapore, a relaxing spa treatment was exactly what I needed on a free Friday afternoon. Even a light drizzle couldn’t dampen my spirits as I made my way to St. Gregory Spa at Pan Pacific Singapore for the aptly named Lady’s Jetsetter Ritual.
I walked through the hotel lobby eager to unwind. After navigating the large reception area, I headed to the fourth floor and briefly got turned around, not realizing I had to cross the rooftop pool deck outside to reach the spa.
St. Gregory Spa has been operating in Singapore for nearly 15 years; the Pan Pacific location is its first in the country, with other branches in Japan and Malaysia. This outpost blends earthy and contemporary elements, featuring natural materials and garden-themed treatment rooms that create a calm, restorative atmosphere.
It’s easy to let go of stress in St. Gregory’s soothing environment. The spa has eight treatment rooms divided into male and female wings, including two couples’ suites. Relaxation areas draw inspiration from the elements; I caught a glimpse of these spaces, though I didn’t have time to fully enjoy them.
My 150-minute Jetsetter Ritual felt indulgent from start to finish. The package includes the St. Gregory Instant Radiance Expert facial and the Aromatic Body Bliss massage, followed by a healthy refreshment to complete the experience.
When I arrived at the spa, I settled in and chatted with the spa manager while sipping a raspberry-vanilla iced tea. Before 5 p.m., the spa offers two iced tea flavors; after 5 p.m., hot chamomile or peppermint tea is served.
The staff introduced the spa’s signature product lines and explained the lotions, oils, and moisturizers used during my treatments. The facial uses Thalion products from France, which are marine-based and formulated to boost hydration and skin elasticity. Many of the spa’s body treatments use Elemis products.
After changing, my massage therapist came to collect me almost immediately. One minor quibble I had was the order and timing of the treatments: I prefer massages to facials, so I would have liked the facial first and the massage as the finishing touch. Instead, the massage came first.
The massage was deeply relaxing, and I remember little from the treatment itself. The Well-Being Massage is a signature service that integrates techniques from multiple massage traditions. The therapist began with gentle brushing to enhance oil absorption, then applied a blend of strokes incorporating Thai, shiatsu, and deep-tissue techniques.
The Instant Radiance Expert facial was equally restorative and left my skin feeling noticeably refreshed. At 75 minutes, the facial was thorough and included extractions—briefly uncomfortable but handled efficiently. One standout moment was a thick, peel-off mask applied toward the end. It felt heavy as it set, and when the therapist removed it in a single, smooth motion, I felt an immediate burst of relief and revitalization.
There’s always a twinge of regret when a spa session ends; having reached peak relaxation, I was reluctant to leave the treatment table. The therapist’s final signal brought a deep, satisfied sigh. The reality of my nearly 24-hour journey back to the United States the next day returned to my mind, along with the irony of a Jetsetter Ritual at the end of a long trip.
The experience wasn’t quite over. The package includes a healthy refreshment served at Brunch, the alfresco dining area on the pool deck. I chose lounge seating and relaxed in an oversized cushioned chair. Soon after, a chicken sandwich with sprouts and greens accompanied by fresh fruit arrived. It was a light, tasty conclusion to the afternoon.
As darker clouds gathered and the drizzle resumed, I gathered my things and left Pan Pacific. Determined to stretch my legs, I walked toward the Merlion statue, which was along my route. Rejuvenated from the spa treatment, I was ready to continue exploring Singapore—true to the Jetsetter spirit. Carpe diem.
