MGM Resorts Expands Meetings Capacity with 850,000 Sq Ft Addition

MGM Resorts International recently completed a major expansion, adding 850,000 square feet of meeting and convention space across its Las Vegas properties. With that increase, MGM Resorts now provides approximately 4 million square feet of meeting and convention space within a two-mile stretch of the Las Vegas Strip—surpassing the total convention space available in Manhattan.

The expansion covers enhancements at several properties, including the MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, ARIA and Park MGM, with the most recent work focused on enlarging the MGM Grand Conference Center.

Ernest Stovall, vice president of sales for MGM Grand, highlighted the guest-focused improvements: “With our expansion, upgraded amenities, new outdoor space and user-friendly connectivity packages, we provide our convention customers an enhanced meeting experience with more options. I’m proud that many of our clients consider MGM Grand their home in Las Vegas, and I look forward to sharing our new look and feel.”

The upgraded facilities feature wellness-focused elements through Stay Well Meetings, an industry-first wellness meetings program that delivers amenities and services designed to support healthier, more productive gatherings. New spaces emphasize natural light and flexibility, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering Strip views, expanded outdoor areas, and non-traditional boardroom configurations tailored to modern meeting needs.

Michael Dominguez, senior vice president and chief sales officer at MGM Resorts, noted that demand has driven the expansion. “The interest in Las Vegas and specifically MGM Resorts destinations has been tremendous. Because we deliver extraordinary events that achieve client goals, we have been able to continue cultivating loyal relationships with companies that want to grow with us. The increased demand for space compelled us to develop more robust and creative meeting options throughout our portfolio, including the new offerings at MGM Grand.”

These enhancements aim to serve a wide range of clients—from large conventions to smaller corporate retreats—by combining increased capacity with upgraded technology, wellness programming and adaptable event layouts. The emphasis on daylight, outdoor settings and connectivity supports contemporary event trends that prioritize attendee wellbeing and hybrid meeting capabilities.

By concentrating expanded meeting inventory along the central Strip corridor, MGM Resorts strengthens its position as a leading meetings and conventions destination in Las Vegas. The company’s portfolio approach allows planners to access a variety of venues and services within walking distance, simplifying logistics for multi-venue events and providing choice for groups of all sizes.

Overall, the added space and refreshed meeting environments reflect MGM Resorts’ response to evolving client expectations, focusing on flexibility, wellness, and enhanced guest experiences to accommodate the growing demand for sophisticated meeting and event solutions in Las Vegas.
