Cathay Pacific and Hertz have announced a new exclusive partnership designating Hertz as the airline’s sole car rental provider. Under this agreement, Cathay Pacific passengers can access special rental discounts through Hertz, and members of the airline’s frequent-flyer program can earn bonus Asia Miles when they rent.
To celebrate the partnership launch, Hertz and Cathay Pacific are offering a limited-time promotion: a 20 percent discount at participating locations across the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia. This promotional rate applies to bookings made through Jan. 31 for vehicle rentals completed by March 31.
Beyond the introductory offer, the partnership includes ongoing benefits for all Cathay Pacific customers. Any passenger flying with the Hong Kong-based carrier receives a standard 5 percent discount on Hertz rentals worldwide. Members of Marco Polo Club and Asia Miles enjoy a 10 percent discount, while Silver and Green Marco Polo Club members qualify for a complimentary one-class vehicle upgrade. Gold and Diamond members are eligible for a two-class upgrade, and Diamond members receive an additional 10 percent discount on Hertz’s Prestige and Fun collections.
These member discounts complement an existing arrangement between Hertz and Asia Miles, which allows Asia Miles members to earn up to 500 Asia Miles when booking Hertz rentals. As part of the new collaboration, Hertz has also introduced a combined booking platform that includes Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands, simplifying reservations for travelers booking through the Cathay Pacific partnership.
The partnership aims to provide Cathay Pacific travelers with streamlined car rental options, greater value through tiered discounts and upgrades, and opportunities to earn extra loyalty miles. Travelers should check participating locations and terms for eligibility, blackout dates and other conditions that may apply to promotional and member benefits.
