Following a comprehensive top-to-bottom refurbishment as part of the brand’s $100 million enhancement initiative, Oceania Cruises’ Sirena now features completely renewed staterooms, suites and public spaces.
Nearly 350 staterooms have been updated with new entry doors, modern furnishings, full-length mirrors and convenient charging stations, elevating comfort and functionality for guests.
Public areas received a fresh design, highlighted by new lighting fixtures and curated artwork drawn from Oceania Cruises’ multimillion-dollar collection. An original piece by Chef Jacques Pepin was specially commissioned for the ship’s coffee bar, Bar Istas, reflecting the line’s emphasis on culinary excellence and artistic expression.
“I don’t know whether my painting has helped my cuisine, or whether my cooking has helped my painting, and I don’t know if one borrows from the other. All I know is that, certainly for me, cooking and painting can live in harmony together. Both are different expressions of who I am, and both enhance my life considerably,” said the renowned culinary figurehead. Pepin also serves as Oceania Cruises’ executive culinary director, bringing his creative vision to both menus and onboard aesthetics.
Additional works displayed aboard include a portrait of Claudine Pepin, Jacques Pepin’s daughter and the ship’s godmother. This portrait was specially commissioned from artist Soumiya Lakshmi Kirshnaswamy to complement the ship’s new artistic program.
“I knew I was creating something that would be living aboard the Sirena. I love the water, and to be out on the middle of an ocean. I made this piece as part of a collection that seeks to capture the spirit of adventure that lies in the sea and with people who follow in pursuit of it,” said Lakshmi Kirshnaswamy, a friend of the Pepin family. Her work adds a personal, evocative touch to the refreshed surroundings.
Overall, the refit enhances both the visual and functional aspects of the ship, blending comfortable accommodations with a thoughtfully curated public realm. The updates reinforce Oceania Cruises’ commitment to refined hospitality, artistic collaboration and culinary leadership across the guest experience.
