InterContinental Los Angeles Century City will introduce a new dining destination on July 8 as part of a multimillion-dollar renovation. The property’s culinary program is led by executive chef Jonathan Wood, who has served as the hotel’s executive chef and director of food and beverage for eight years. He oversees both the new Copper Lounge and Mari Los Angeles.
Before joining InterContinental Los Angeles Century City, Wood was executive sous chef at The Fairmont Kansas City at the Plaza. Supporting him for the openings are experienced colleagues: executive sous chef Shane Hosac, with previous roles at The Ritz-Carlton and The Langham Hotel in Pasadena and a member of the InterContinental team since 2011; and executive pastry chef Romain Lenoir, whose background includes apprenticeships in Dijon, France, and positions at notable hotels in London, Chicago and Beverly Hills.
“Chef Wood and his culinary team have been central to shaping the menu and dining experience for our new restaurant and lounge,” said Steve Choe, general manager of InterContinental Los Angeles Century City. “Inspired by the hotel owner’s Japanese heritage and the international travelers who stay with us, Mari Los Angeles aims to deliver a refined, world-class dining experience for both guests and locals.”
The debut of Mari Los Angeles and the Copper Lounge marks the final phase of the hotel’s extensive renovation project, which has also refreshed guestrooms and suites, the spa, and the Grand Chateau Ballroom. The redesigned spaces combine contemporary comforts with thoughtful design to enhance guest stays and event experiences throughout the property.
