Virgin Group’s travel division has unveiled plans for a new adult-only cruise line featuring a ship called Scarlet Lady. Designed for guests aged 18 and over, the new Virgin Voyages vessel blends luxury and contemporary style, the result of collaborations with several leading design studios.
The ship offers distinct outdoor lounges. Richard’s Roofdeck — named for Virgin founder Richard Branson — will provide suite guests a place to sunbathe or relax in the shade with a cocktail, while The Dock will serve as an open-air lounge available to all passengers for lounging and socializing.
Active travelers will find extensive fitness amenities on board, including an outdoor running track and boxing bags, as well as an interior fitness studio that hosts group cycling and yoga classes. After exercising, guests can unwind at Redemption, the ship’s thermal spa, which includes a mud room, salt room, quartz relaxation beds and multiple cold-plunge pools to cool down and rejuvenate.
Dining aboard the Scarlet Lady focuses on varied, high-quality experiences. Up to 2,700 guests will have a selection of dining venues, including Pink Agave, an upscale restaurant offering modern Mexican cuisine, and Test Kitchen, a contemporary space where diners can sample inventive, experimental dishes in a sleek, metallic-accented environment.
The Scarlet Lady’s maiden voyage is provisionally scheduled to depart from Miami in 2020.
