EL AL Unveils New Business-Class Seats for Long-Haul Flights

Business class on EL AL Israel Airlines has been recently upgraded. Now available on all EL AL flights departing the United States, premium passengers benefit from new, bed-like seats designed for greater comfort on long-haul routes.

“We continuously strive to provide additional options and improvements, maximum comfort, as well as superb in-flight service,” said Shmuel Kuzi, vice president and general manager, North and Central America, EL AL Israel Airlines. “This upgrade is part of our ongoing strategy to further enrich the overall passenger experience.”

The refreshed business-class cabin is currently installed on Boeing 777s serving routes between Israel and New York (JFK and EWR) and Los Angeles (LAX), on 767s from Boston (BOS), and on 747-400 aircraft used on New York-area services. The ergonomic seats feature increased width and pitch, enhanced lumbar support, and redesigned upholstery to improve comfort during long flights.

In addition to the business-class enhancement, EL AL now offers Economy Class Plus on all flights from the United States. For a fee—typically $150 per person—this option provides extra legroom, greater recline, and a wider seat, making economy travel more comfortable.

EL AL remains the only carrier offering first class on nonstop services between the United States and Israel, delivering an intimate environment and elevated levels of comfort for travelers seeking a premium experience.
