On December 16, 2017, John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City welcomed the first aircraft equipped with Qatar Airways’ innovative Qsuite. Installed on Boeing 777 aircraft, this advanced business-class product initially operated on flights between New York (JFK) and Doha (DOH), with plans to expand service to other U.S. gateways such as Washington Dulles.
Qsuite introduced several industry-first features, including seats that can convert into double beds and private suites designed to accommodate up to four passengers. Each suite offers configurable privacy through sliding panels that stow away when not needed, plus individual, movable entertainment monitors to suit different seating arrangements.
One of Qsuite’s standout capabilities is its flexibility for collaboration. Passengers traveling together can combine adjacent suites to create a larger, shared space ideal for meetings, group dining, or socializing. Each suite provides a personal monitor and a work surface suitable for laptops, making it practical for business travelers who need to work comfortably in flight.
These design choices target professionals who frequently travel between major East Coast cities and destinations in the Middle East, offering a blend of privacy, comfort, and functionality that supports both rest and productivity during long-haul flights.
