Delta Launches New Detroit to Munich Nonstop Route

Delta Air Lines is expanding its transatlantic network with new nonstop service between Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Munich Airport beginning May 26, 2016. The airline will operate the route six days a week, excluding Saturdays, using 246-seat Boeing 767-400ER aircraft.

Passengers in Delta One will enjoy premium amenities designed for comfort on long-haul flights, including full flat-bed seats with direct aisle access. The cabin will also offer elevated dining options, Westin Heavenly In-Flight Bedding, and Tumi amenity kits to enhance the travel experience.

This Munich route marks Delta’s second nonstop connection from Detroit to Germany, complementing the carrier’s existing service from Detroit to Frankfurt International Airport. The expanded offering provides more choices for travelers flying between the Motor City and key destinations in Germany, supporting both business and leisure travel.

The addition of Munich strengthens Delta’s presence across the Atlantic and offers improved connectivity for customers traveling onward within Europe. With modern widebody aircraft and premium service features, the new route aims to deliver greater comfort and convenience for transatlantic travelers departing from Detroit.
