Pittsburgh Airport Launches Improved Lost & Found System For Travelers

Pittsburgh International Airport has launched a modern lost-and-found system that lets travelers file claims any time, from anywhere in the world. The new tool is part of the airport’s “We Got You” initiative and is designed to give passengers greater control, transparency and convenience when an item goes missing.

“Losing something while traveling is stressful, and our goal is to make recovery as simple as possible,” said Elise Gomez, manager of Customer Experience for the Allegheny County Airport Authority. The new software allows passengers to connect with the Lost and Found team quickly and helps the airport reunite more people with their belongings.

Previously, reporting a lost item required calling or emailing the Information Desk during business hours. With the new system, passengers can submit a claim online, monitor its status in real time and receive automated updates around the clock from any device via the airport’s lost-and-found webpage.

PIT’s Experience and Design team developed the system after extensive research with passengers and staff, focusing on actual traveler needs. Key features include an intuitive online portal, real-time tracking of claims, faster processing times, a mobile-friendly interface and 24/7 availability.
