EL AL Debuts Art & Lounge Experience at Newark Airport (EWR)

Art & Lounge is EL AL Israel Airlines’ newest lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport. Located on the gate level of Terminal B, the lounge serves premium passengers traveling to Israel and combines a comfortable airport retreat with a rotating program of contemporary Israeli art and video exhibitions.

Developed and curated by Luxury Lounges Ltd. Co., the space was designed to blend refined aesthetics with practical amenities. The lounge accommodates up to 90 guests in a calm, well-appointed setting meant to provide relaxation and convenience before boarding. Comfortable seating areas, thoughtful lighting and an atmosphere that supports both quiet work and restful waiting contribute to the overall guest experience.

Food and beverage offerings follow strict kosher standards and emphasize freshness and variety. A dairy buffet features seasonal fruits, a vegetable salad bar, assorted cheeses and an assortment of breads, along with sweet and savory baked goods. In addition to the buffet, a dedicated “health corner” includes granola, dried fruits, yogurt, dates and honey, providing lighter options for health-conscious travelers.

Beyond dining, the lounge’s rotating art exhibitions are a defining feature. Contemporary Israeli artworks and video installations will be displayed on a scheduled basis, creating a dynamic environment that reflects current cultural themes and gives travelers a chance to engage with Israeli creativity while they wait. The dual function of the space—as both a premium lounge and an exhibition venue—aims to elevate the travel experience by combining comfort with cultural enrichment.

Service standards are positioned to match EL AL’s expectations for passenger comfort and hospitality. Staffed to assist with a range of traveler needs, the lounge offers attentive service intended to make preflight time more pleasant and efficient. Whether guests seek a quiet place to work, a comfortable spot to relax, or a refined area to enjoy a meal, the lounge is designed to accommodate those preferences.

Daniel Saadon, vice president for EL AL in North and Central America, noted that the new facility reflects the airline’s commitment to quality and passenger satisfaction. By focusing on service, food quality and a welcoming environment, the lounge aims to meet the needs of discerning travelers on routes to Israel.

The lounge’s location in Terminal B provides convenient access for eligible passengers. Its gate-level position ensures minimal transit time within the terminal and easy boarding when flights are called. Thoughtful layout and clear sightlines help maintain a tranquil atmosphere despite the busy airport setting.

Amenities beyond dining and art include a range of seating options suitable for individuals and small groups, power outlets for device charging, and spaces that support both conversation and solitude. Attention to cleanliness and contemporary design helps maintain a pleasant environment throughout the day.

By integrating rotating art exhibits with a full-service premium lounge, the facility aims to offer travelers something beyond the standard airport waiting area. The programming of contemporary Israeli art provides an evolving experience, encouraging repeat visits and engagement from passengers who value culture as part of their travel routine.

Overall, the lounge presents a balance of comfort, culinary variety and cultural programming tailored to premium travelers heading to Israel. With kosher dining options, health-conscious selections and curated art installations, the space is intended to be both a practical and inspiring part of the preflight experience.
