Princess Cruises has unveiled an expanded lineup of chocolate creations as part of its Chocolate Journeys program. Designed in collaboration with Chef Norman Love, an acclaimed master chocolatier and pastry chef who previously served as executive pastry chef at the Ritz-Carlton, the new offerings bring elevated chocolate experiences across the ship’s dining venues.
The enhanced Chocolate Journeys menu will roll out in early 2016. Guests can expect gourmet chocolate elements woven into morning, afternoon and evening menus. At Horizon Court, savory breakfast items will incorporate chocolate in creative ways, and a different chocolate cake will be offered each night. The International Café will present daily chocolate delicacies, including Chef Love’s signature premium chocolate cookies. Chocolate-inspired selections will also be featured during afternoon tea and in the main dining room, giving passengers multiple opportunities to enjoy handcrafted chocolate treats throughout the day.
To better understand passenger preferences, Princess Cruises commissioned Wakefield Research to conduct a chocolate-themed survey. The study found that 51 percent of American adults describe themselves as having a “chocolate addiction,” and 68 percent report enjoying chocolate at least weekly. These findings support Princess Cruises’ decision to broaden its chocolate offerings and tailor menus to guests who regularly indulge in chocolate.
The collaboration with Chef Norman Love and the survey insights reflect Princess Cruises’ focus on creating memorable culinary moments. By integrating premium chocolate into a range of dishes and desserts, the cruise line aims to appeal to both casual chocolate lovers and connoisseurs seeking sophisticated, handcrafted treats during their voyage.
