With the start of a new year comes a wave of hotel openings across major U.S. cities. In New York City, The Whitby, a boutique property from London-based Firmdale Hotels, has opened in one of Manhattan’s most sought-after neighborhoods.
Situated on West 56th Street in Midtown, The Whitby is only two blocks from Central Park and within easy walking distance of top dining and gallery destinations, including the Museum of Modern Art.
The hotel offers 86 guestrooms, each uniquely designed and decorated to create an individual experience. Several rooms include private terraces, and all feature floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views of the New York skyline. Guests can relax in a drawing room, use a shared private outdoor terrace, or host gatherings in one of three banquet rooms. Dining options include The Whitby Bar and Restaurant and the Orangery, which serves a traditional afternoon tea for an additional charge. Additional amenities include the 130-seat Whitby Theater and a fitness center.
