Taste Belgian Cuisine Onboard: New Meals from Brussels Airlines

Brussels Airlines continues to act as a flying ambassador for Belgium by partnering with Michelin-starred Chef Peter Goossens of the renowned Hof van Cleve to introduce a new gourmet dining program for premium passengers.

Beginning in December, intercontinental business-class travelers on routes to the United States and Africa can choose from six distinct menus crafted to highlight Belgian culinary traditions. Chef Goossens designed the offerings around seasonal and regional ingredients to give each dish an authentic Belgian character while meeting the practical constraints of in-flight catering.

“We aimed to recreate the restaurant experience at 30,000 feet,” said Chef Goossens. “Working within the limits of airline service was challenging, but I’m proud of the final menus. It was a unique collaboration with Brussels Airlines, and I look forward to passenger reactions on board.”

To complement the new menus, Goossens selected six regional Belgian beers to be served with the meals, including Steenuilke from Brouwerij De Ryck and Malheur from Brouwerij De Landtsheer. The beer pairings were chosen to enhance the flavors of the dishes and to reinforce the Belgian food and beverage identity presented on board.

Anne Tricot, Vice President Customer Experience at Brussels Airlines, emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration: “We are extremely proud to serve Peter Goossens’ creations on our intercontinental flights. Our goal is to deliver a premium business-class experience while celebrating Belgian cuisine. Peter’s menus are a perfect way to showcase the best of Belgian gastronomy to our guests.”

The new dining program reinforces Brussels Airlines’ commitment to quality service and national culinary heritage, offering business-class passengers a thoughtfully curated culinary journey during long-haul flights.
