Apple Maps Adds More Airports and Terminal Details

Hurried travelers now have access to more airport maps than ever through Apple Maps. Until recently, the only airports with indoor maps were San Jose (SJC) and Philadelphia (PHL).

The latest update expands coverage to include detailed maps for Oakland (OAK), Miami (MIA), Minneapolis–Saint Paul (MSP), Baltimore–Washington (BWI), Portland (PDX), Las Vegas (LAS) and both Chicago airports (ORD and MDW).

Each airport map provides detailed overhead layouts of terminals and concourses, showing gate locations, security checkpoints, and floor plans that highlight dining and shopping options. Maps are searchable, and many food and retail listings include additional information such as hours and descriptions.

Apple says this rollout is ongoing and that maps for more than 20 additional U.S. airports are planned. Travelers can expect future coverage for Denver (DEN), Detroit (DTW), Houston (HOU and IAH), Indianapolis (IND), Jacksonville (JAX), Los Angeles (LAX and SNA), Nashville (BNA), New York (JFK and LGA), Newark (EWR), Pittsburgh (PIT), San Diego (SAN) and Seattle (SEA).

Beyond the United States, airports in key cities across Canada, Europe, the Middle East and China are also slated to receive indoor map support as part of Apple’s broader expansion.

No firm release dates have been announced for the upcoming airport maps, but the company indicates the expansion will continue in stages, bringing more indoor navigation and amenity details to travelers over time.
