Brussels Airlines Introduces New Cabin Seats with Enhanced Comfort

Brussels Airlines will introduce refreshed cabin interiors across its long-haul Airbus A330 fleet.

The airline has commissioned JPA Design to develop new seating for economy, premium economy and business class. The upgrade program also includes redesigned carpets, curtains, lighting, bulkheads and lavatories to create a more cohesive onboard environment.

The new cabin look is scheduled to debut at the end of 2018. JPA Design was tasked with reflecting the airline’s lively and approachable brand personality while delivering a comfortable, modern passenger experience.

John Tighe, design director of transport and lead on the project at JPA Design, said the concept focuses on a strong user experience. “The design is vibrant and immediately on-brand, while offering depth that reveals itself as passengers settle into their own space,” he explained.

Tighe added that while many brands claim to be ‘human’, Brussels Airlines has long put that idea into practice. “Their mantra—‘We go the extra smile’—captures a genuinely warm and characterful approach. Our goal at JPA is to express that friendly energy consistently throughout the cabin,” he said.
