Hyatt Expands in Indonesia: New Hotels, Locations & Timeline

Hyatt has announced it will expand its presence in Indonesia with a new Hyatt Regency hotel in Sentul City. Scheduled to open in 2017, Hyatt Regency Sentul City will be located less than 25 miles south of Jakarta and will offer 225 guestrooms and suites, an outdoor swimming pool, a full-service spa, and flexible meeting and event space designed for both business and leisure travelers.

Sentul City has experienced notable development in recent years, and Hyatt’s decision to add a Regency property reflects confidence in the market’s growth and demand for international hospitality brands. Ratnesh Verma, senior vice president of real estate and development for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Asia Pacific, commented that Hyatt is pleased to expand its presence in Indonesia. He noted that the company opened its first hotel in the country more than three decades ago and is looking forward to strengthening Hyatt’s brand recognition and portfolio across Indonesia.

Hyatt Regency Sentul City will join five existing Hyatt-branded hotels in Indonesia: Grand Hyatt Bali, Grand Hyatt Jakarta, Hyatt Regency Bandung, Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta, and Hyatt Regency Bali. The new property will aim to serve both domestic and international guests seeking comfortable accommodations, modern amenities, and convenient access to Jakarta and surrounding attractions.

Key features planned for the hotel include a variety of room types, leisure facilities including the outdoor pool and spa, and versatile event spaces capable of hosting meetings, conferences, weddings, and social gatherings. These amenities are intended to position the hotel as a hub for business events as well as a retreat for holidaymakers exploring West Java and the greater Jakarta area.

As Hyatt continues to grow its footprint in Indonesia, the addition of Hyatt Regency Sentul City signals ongoing investment in the country’s tourism and hospitality sectors. The property is expected to blend Hyatt’s global standards of service with local influences to provide guests with a welcoming and contemporary stay.
