To enhance the passenger experience, airberlin is introducing a range of new amenities designed to make travel more comfortable and enjoyable. These improvements include after-work events in selected airport lounges, new welcome beverages for premium passengers, increased privacy in business class, and refreshed in-flight entertainment options.
The airline is launching after-work events in a number of exclusive waiting areas, including Berlin-Tegel Airport, Düsseldorf International Airport, Munich International Airport, and Vienna International Airport. At these gatherings, passengers can relax with music and the airline’s signature FliegerCocktail. The FliegerCocktail is also being introduced on board as a welcome drink for business-class passengers starting in April.
“These after-work events are our way of thanking frequent flyers,” said Marco Ciomperlik, chief production officer at airberlin. “We know how tiring business travel can be and how relaxation is often squeezed out by tight schedules. We want to offer our guests an opportunity to unwind with good music, a cocktail, and a beer. Our crew will personally attend to topbonus members and business-class passengers in the exclusive waiting areas.”
Enhanced privacy in business class is another key upgrade. On the carrier’s first Airbus A330, new privacy dividers have been installed between adjacent seats. These dividers provide better separation and more personal, undisturbed space for each guest. airberlin plans to retrofit the entire long-haul fleet with these privacy dividers to ensure a consistent, more private experience for business-class travelers.
The airline is also improving its long-haul entertainment program by increasing the frequency of content updates. Instead of refreshing the selection every four months, airberlin will add five current leading blockbusters every two months and include at least eight new classic films in each two-month update. This change aims to keep the in-flight library fresher and more engaging for passengers on extended flights.
Together, these enhancements—lounge events, welcome beverages, privacy upgrades, and more frequent entertainment updates—reflect airberlin’s focus on elevating comfort and service for its premium and frequent-flyer customers. The changes target core pain points of business travel by providing opportunities to relax before departure, more personal space onboard, and a continually updated selection of films to enjoy in flight.
Passengers can expect these amenities to roll out progressively across routes and aircraft as the airline implements the upgrades fleet-wide.
