Boost Brain Power with a Stay at Corinthia Hotel London

The Corinthia Hotel London, set within an elegant Victorian building, has introduced programs designed to support and improve brain performance. Through carefully crafted food and beverage offerings, bedroom amenities and spa treatments, the hotel aims to help guests reach peak mental functioning as part of its brain power initiative.

Available between November 2016 and December 2017, these packages coincide with the hotel’s Neuroscientist in Residence program, during which neuroscientist Dr. Tara Swart focused on mental resilience and recovery to understand how people can achieve maximum performance.

Diet, sleep and daily habits all influence the brain by stimulating the senses and creating the conditions needed for optimal performance. The Corinthia’s program combines sensory, nutritional and restorative elements to support clearer thinking, better memory and improved focus.

The offer includes tailored experiences across guest bedrooms, ESPA Life at Corinthia, Northall Restaurant, in-room dining and the Bassoon Bar. Priced at $766 for single occupancy, the package features an overnight stay in a superior king room, dinner and breakfast from a Brain Power Menu, an ESPA mindful massage incorporating yoga Nidra, unlimited access to ESPA Life facilities and the use of specialized sleep pods.

Guestroom enhancements are focused on improving rest and recovery. Heated marble floors encourage barefoot walking, warm fluffy towels add comfort, and a Hypnos mattress built with natural fibers helps regulate body temperature for better sleep. Additional touches include a pillow menu, high-quality bedding, lavender pillow sprays to promote relaxation, bedsocks to keep extremities warm, blackout blinds, optimal room temperature and a calming, earthy color palette. These elements are intended to support restorative sleep, which is critical for cognitive function—sleep shorter than seven to nine hours can negatively affect reasoning and memory the following day.

The two-hour ESPA mindful massage is designed to guide guests into a mindful state by centering attention on the present moment. Mindfulness practices can support mental health by reducing symptoms of depression and lowering everyday anxiety, stress and irritability. Yoga and related mindfulness techniques train the mind to relax consciously, supporting long-term positive change. The massage blends breathwork and visualization with bodywork to decrease stress and sharpen focus so guests wake feeling renewed and mentally clear. For visitors who cannot stay overnight, a spa day package is also available for $347.

Nutrition is another core component. Certain foods and drinks supply the essential nutrients that build, protect and repair brain cells. Hydration is particularly important: even a 1–3 percent drop in hydration can impair memory, concentration and decision-making. To support cognitive performance, the hotel’s restaurants offer a selection of brain-friendly dishes and beverages—ranging from nutrient-dense meals and specialty teas to mocktails, a hangover tonic and a warming bedtime drink—designed to optimize mental function and wellbeing.

By combining restorative sleep environments, mindfulness-focused treatments and targeted nutrition, the Corinthia Hotel London presents a holistic approach intended to boost mental resilience, sharpen focus and enhance overall brain performance during a stay.
