Guest Quarters: The guestroom was spacious and bright, with French doors opening onto a view of the lush garden. A personalized touch—my pillowcase was embroidered with my initials—set a warm tone, and a handwritten note at the desk welcomed me to my two-day stay.
The bathroom was a highlight. It featured a separate shower and a deep soaking tub, both of which I used during my stay. The marble vanity was well appointed with thoughtful toiletries and essentials like cotton balls and disinfectant wipes. Ample lighting and mirrors made dressing and applying makeup easy. Hidden speakers in the bath area let me listen to music and TV while soaking or getting ready, which made the experience especially relaxing.
Services/Amenities: Complimentary wireless Internet is my benchmark for any hotel, and The Peninsula delivered reliable in-room WiFi. The nightly turndown service was a pleasant ritual: returning to the room in the evening to find a fresh bottle of water and a glass on the nightstand, dimmed lights, and soft music created a calm atmosphere for rest.
Dining at The Peninsula was consistently enjoyable. The Club Bar served well-crafted drinks, including a chocolate martini made to my preference. I also lunched at The Roof Garden with colleagues, where alfresco seating near the pool offered a refreshing break from chilly Pennsylvania weather. The menu offered classic upscale hotel fare, and the salads were satisfying.
