June in Vienna brings warm weather and a busy cultural calendar. From June 8–15 the identities Queer Film Festival presents a curated selection of LGBT films from around the world, shown in the city’s acclaimed art-house cinemas. This year’s program includes exclusive previews such as Theo & Hugo and a special screening of Grandma, alongside a varied fringe program of parties, club nights and social events.
Also taking place in June is Life Ball, one of Europe’s most prominent AIDS/HIV charity events, returning to Vienna on June 10. The program features runway presentations by leading designers on Rathausplatz and a celebratory party at City Hall. From June 13–17 Vienna Pride transforms Rathausplatz into Pride Village, complete with food and drink vendors, DJ sets and areas to relax in the sun. The festivities culminate on June 17 with the Rainbow Parade along the Ringstrasse boulevard.
